How many of you like munching some savory snack while sipping a cup of hot tea ? I love it but the diet word is holding me My family loves these munching snack once they are back from school and office. After making so many sweets, I wanted to try some easy and savory snack. Spicy sev is a quick, spicy and deep fried snack made during Diwali festival. This is crispy and flavorful. Addition of crushed garlic enhance the taste. Now to the recipe….
Crush garlic and set aside. Sieve besan and make a lumpfree flour. In a Mixing bowl add besan, rice flour, crushed garlic, cumin seeds,turmeric, pepper, ghee, red chili powder, ajwain, asafetida and salt. Mix well. Add water slowly and make smooth dough.
Heat oil for deep frying. Take a chakli maker, replace the chakli attachment with the sev attachment. Grease the maker with lttle oil. Fill the chakli maker with the prepared dough. Press it in a hot oil and make only one circle at a time. Do not overcrowded.
Fry on medium flame. Turn over in between for even cooking. Drain it in paper towel and break it roughly.
Let it cool down completely and munch it with a cup of tea !
Store it in a airtight container.
If the dough is hard & difficult to press then knead it with a tsp of hot water and then use it.
