Prep Time: 35 minutes | Cook time: 20 minutes |Makes: 10-12

All Purpose flour

2 & 1/2 cup

Granulated Sugar

5 tbsp

1 cup (230 gms)

Water/Milk (cold)

1/2 cup minus 2 tsp)

Fruit jam

1/4 cup

Apple (finely chopped)

1/2 cup

1/4 tsp

How to make?

  • In a mixing bowl sift flour, salt and sugar. Add butter slowly and whisk till coarsely in mixture.

  • Add milk slowly (1 spoon at a time) Kneed the dough till soft and smooth. If the dough doesn’t hold together, add extra milk. Cover the dough in a cling wrap and refrigerate about 30-35 minutes.

  • Gently Place the dough on a butter paper and roll out it in to 1/4 inch thick circle.

  • Using your circle shape cookie cutter, cut the cookies . collect the scrap and roll again till you finish dough. ( I used my steel bowl)

  • Preheat oven 350 F(175 C). Line the butter paper and carefully transfer cookies on butter paper. Then place small dollap of jam on the cookie and again put some chopped apples over the jam. Place another circle cookie on top of the filling and press the edges. Continue same process with rest of the cookies.

  • Now use cutter for trimming the edges. (I used my karajni cutter spoon).Using toothpick make three cuts on each pie. Brush it with milk and bake about 20-22 minutes. ( Sorry not able to click last photo as I was very curious to taste these cute cookies, I completely forgot the last click !!)

  • Let it cool down completely and enjoy !!

Notes :

  • Instead of apple you can use pears, blueberry, chocolate chips also.

  • Always keep in airtight container. These cookies stays fresh for 2-3 days.

  • Keep an eye after 15 minutes. As the oven timing varies from oven to oven.

  • Do not over bake, the cookies will become harder.

  • You can use store bought pie crust also.
