Mooli / Radish Paratha Recipe

            Mooli / Radish Paratha is North Indian delicacy. Mooli paratha is again stuffed version and I tried this 2-3 times, didn’t came out well. Then my friend told me to put little salt on grated mooli and keep aside for 10 min. I decided to try and came out perfect. Mooli paratha is very filling and can be served with any raita.Tastes great !!

 

 

Prep Time: 25 minutes | Cook time: 20 minutes | Serves: 2

 

Ingredient

Radish/Mooli (Grated)

1.5 cup

Oil/ghee

1 tsp

Cumin seeds

1/2 tsp

Ginger garlic paste

1/2 tsp

Ajwain/Carom seeds

1/4 tsp

Sesame seeds

1/2 tsp

Red chilli powder

1/2 tsp

Coriander powder

1/2 tsp

Turmeric

1/4 tsp

Coriander leaves/Cilantro (chopped)

2 tsp

Salt

To taste

For Dough

Wheat flour

2 cup

Oil

1 tsp

Salt

As Needed

Water

As Needed

 

How to make?

  • Peel off and grate mooli. Sprinkle little salt and keep aside for 10 minutes. Water drained automatically. Squeeze out all the excess water using your hand. repeat this process twice till all water goes out.Heat ghee in pan. Add cumin seeds, carom seeds, sesame seeds, ginger garlic paste and let it splutter.

  • Cook on medium flame for 5 minutes till all the water goes out. sprinkle coriander leaves and mix well. Transfer to a plate and keep aside to cool down.Add grated mooli with red chilli powder, turmeric, corianders powder and required salt. Mix well.

  • Now make a dough. In a bowl add flour, oil salt and mix well. Add water slowly and make soft and pliable like chapati dough. Cover and set aside.Make equal size of balls out of dough. Make stuffing ball smaller than dough ball.

  •  Roll out dough ball into thick circle, place the stuffing and get all the edges to the center.Heat a pan. Dust some flour and roll out paratha, and transfer the paratha to pan.

  • Apply some ghee on both side of paratha and fry till golden brown spots appear.

  • Serve with raita or pickle.
