Dal Fry – How to make Dal fry with Toor Dal


                      Dal fry is popular north Indian dish always comes along with Jeera rice or Phulka. This is easy to make with toor dal. whenever we went to restaurant, we usually end our dinner with Dal fry and jeera rice. Everyone makes this dal in various ways by adding different dals, but I liked to prepare my dal wit toor dal. ‘’Ghee’’ is the highlight of this recipe. If you made with same proportion  it tastes awesum.

Peanut and Dates Ladoo

         As a kids we are used to eat roasted peanut and date ladoo, that combo tasted awesum ! Usually my mom made this dish often as they are rich in protein and sugar fee. Peanut and Dates Ladoo belongs to my childhood.  I really crave for any types of ladoo’s that my mom makes.  I liked to feed my daughter and hubby healthy and protein rich  rather than fat rich or sugar rich sweets. Very simple to prepare with only two ingredients. Now move on to this quick and healthy recipe.

Mango Milkshake–How to make Mango Milkshake


      At last summer is here Sun Now kids are ready to go in the swimming pool, parks, gardening, cycling and many more activities will go on. To beat this heat, reduce hunger and get some energy, I regularly make this mango milkshake with less time, and my daughter gulp it immediately.  In Maharashtra we called Mango is a ‘’king of fruit ’’. They are sweet and juicy.

Palak/Spinach Phulka – How to make Palak Chapati

             Here is healthy chapati / flat bread, made with spinach. Chapati is main in our Maharashtra cuisine and our daily meal is incomplete without chapati. It is always hard to convince kids to eat greeny and leafy vegetables. So I always try to add new ingredients while making chapati dough. Also Spinach is known for rich source of iron, so I try to add it in many dishes. Spinach or palak chapati  is not just colorful, but flavorful and healthy too. Kids might also love the color and its surely change for them from the regular chapati. This recipe is definitely worth to try !

Rava Idly–How to make Rava Idly with Eno

              Rava Idly is my favorite as it’s a quick recipe. I am enjoying rava idly since we came here (USA). That time my daughter was too small, was not even crawling. At that time it was hard to make full meal. Then one of my friend suggested this instant Rava Idli recipe. Easy and quick idly, after making this I am big fan of this recipe. I was using packet/ready made mixture, but thought of making it at home. It turned out perfect after 3rd attempt !! I tried this idly using Eno frit salt or Baking soda, both are perfectly came out. Try this soft and tasty rava idly, I am sure your family will love this !!

Cashew Oats cookie–Eggless Cashew Oats cookies

            As the name says this is healthy and low calorie cookies. All the ingredients in this recipe are guilt free and unprocessed. No sugar, no maida and no baking powder but this cookies are very flavorfulApplause. With minimal ingredients going into this, cashew cookies are bit crunchy texture. Capsicum Potato Fry–Aloo Simla Mirch Subji

                    Aloo Simla Mirch is quick and easy side I have been making at least twice a week. It cooked fast, so never remain raw or uncooked. This dry vegetable curry that has no liquid and it doesn’t need to be ‘’chopped fine’’. I usually stuff this subji in the middle of chapati and make a rolls for my daughter. It is very easy to carry and also healthy filling.  It tastes best when it is hot and can be served with Naan, Rotis.

Cheesy Capsicum Toast–Easy Breakfast Recipe

       Cheesy Capsicum Toast is very quick and easy breakfast recipe.  I learnt this recipe from one of my friend when we had tea party. They were too delicious, my daughter loved it.  These easy to make cheesy toasts can go with various toppings.

       It can be made on stove top too. Just toast the slice on tava / pan ( check the notes for details ). I have tried both oven and stove top methods, both are easy and quick. Toast came out crispy cheesy and flavorful. This is one of the best recipe for kids with glass of chilled juice.

Aam Panna recipe


               As weather is changing day by day, we get clear indication of summer Sun. Its is just around the corner. What can be the better than the flavor of raw mango. “Raw mango panna” is the ultimate drink to survive in summer.

              ‘Chaitra’ is the first month of Marathi calendar. In this auspicious month we celebrate ‘Chaitra Gauri Haldi Kumkum’. This is mainly for girls and ladies. We prepare some snacks which is made from raw mango like raw mango with lentil (Kairichi dal) and Aam panna. We invite gals and ladies staying nearby to come and enjoy this function. My mom would keep a large woke of panna ready for this function.
