Aloo Kurkure–Potato Kurkure

                  On a rainy day, aloo kurkure with cup of hot cardamom tea comes as a perfect blessing.The first thought when it starts raining is pakoda but today I am sharing aloo kurkure which my family finish it in one sitting. Aloo kurkure is perfect evening snack for kids and can be eaten with sauce or as it is.

 

 

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 10 minutes | Serves: 4

 

Ingredient

Potato

3-4

All purpose flour

4 tsp

Poha

1/2 cup

Mint leaves

6-7

Cilantro

1/4 cup

Green chilies

2

Chat Masala

1/2 tsp

Coriander powder

1/2 tsp

Lemon juice

1 tsp

Salt

As per taste

 

How to make?

  • Wash and chop Cilantro, mint leaves and green chili finely. Pressure cook potatoes for three whistles. Peel of the skin of potatoes and and mash them.

  • Add cilantro, mint leaves, green chilies, chat masala, coriander powder, salt and lemon juice in mashed potatoes.

  • Add poha into grinder and  grind coarsely. In a bowl, add all purpose flour and water and make thick paste.

  • Make Desired shape out of the mixture. Dip them into All purpose flour paste and gently coat both sides with the poha powder. Repeat this process with rest of the patties.

  • Deep fry them in a hot oil till golden brown in color. Cook in medium flame. Drain in a paper napkin.

  • Serve with ketchup !

Notes :

  • Adjust spice level according to your taste.

  • You can also shallow fry with little oil.

  • Use bread crumbs instead of poha powder.

  • You can also add onion in to the mixture.
