Methi Paratha – How To Make Methi Paratha?

           Methi paratha is another tasty recipe. When we were busy with our exam, for us, my mom was preferring some healthy meal with less oil . And Paratha was perfect break from our busy studies. Also this recipe, I learnt from my momSmile. Green or leafy vegetables are very healthy and they are perfect fit in your diet chart. This is low fat recipe. Simple yet delicious methi paratha with raita or pickle or curry of your choice.



Prep Time: 45 minutes | Cook time: 30 minutes | Makes: 12-14

 

Ingredient


Methi leaves

1 Bunch

Wheat flour

2 cup

Oil

1 tsp

Red chili powder

1/2 tsp

Turmeric

1/2 tsp

Cumin seeds

1/2 tsp

Salt

As per taste

Ginger /garlic paste

1/2 tsp

Sesame seeds


1/2 tsp


Water


1/4 cup

 

How to make ?

  • Gently remove the methi leaves from its stem, wash it 2/3 times and chop finely. Sprinkle some salt and keep aside for 10 min. This will reduce the bitterness of methi leaves.

  • Take bowl add wheat flour and squeeze excess water from methi leaves and mix it. Add spices like Red chili powder, turmeric, cumin seeds, ginger garlic paste, sesame seeds and required salt.

  • Add water slowly to make soft dough. Keep it for 30 min.

  • Now make a small balls and roll out like chapati.

  • Heat pan on medium flame, roast paratha from both sides. sprinkle few drops of oil/ghee.

  • Serve hot with Raita/Pickle.

Note:
  • You can sauté methi leaves with a tsp of oil and add into flour.

  • Adding yogurt gives extra flavor.

  • This is also travel time friend. It stays long time and soft.

  • Wrap them in soft cloth to keep fresh for long time.
