Sabudana Khichdi - Sago Khichdi

DSC_0121

Today I'm preparing Sabudana Khichdi which is one of the popular recipe during Navratri, Ekadashi or any fasting day. In childhood my mom was preparing sabudana khichdi on her fast day and never forgot to keep my share. I was love to eat soft and delicious khichdi Smileafter coming back from school. It’s a wonderful mixture of sabudana and crushed peanut. This is fasting special recipe so I didn’t use any veggies or onion. Sabudana khichdi is the hit item in my family. My Butterfly loved to eat with milk or curd . Lets start the easy and quick recipe !!!

Prep Time: 6hrs soaking time | Cook time: 10 minutes | Serves: 2

 Ingredient

Sabudana 1 cup
Ghee 2 tsp
Potato 1
Green chili 2
Crushed peanut 1/4 cup
Lemon 1/2 tsp
Milk 1 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Salt As per taste

How to make ?

  • Gently wash sabudana and soak it overnight ( at least 6 hrs.) with the little amount of water (1/4th cup).

  • Peel the skin of potato. Chop it and green chili evenly (as I’m in jiffy I skipped the part of boiling the potatoes)

Notes :

  • Do not add excess water as it will make soggy.

  • If you want to make it for kids, you can use variety of veggies.

  • You can soak sabudana in warm water for 2/3 hrs., it will saves your time. Make sure water should not be too hot.

  • Quantity in the snaps is more as I have prepared khichdi for more people.
